Admission to the Sunnyside Primary Academy

 

   

We are delighted that you are considering Sunnyside Primary Academy for the next step in your child's education.

Sunnyside Primary Academy provides for the needs of children within the 4 to 11 age range who live in Kingsthorpe and the surrounding area.

Pupils will be admitted at the age of 4+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.

Admissions Numbers

  • We have a pupil allocation number of 60 per year group. 

For admissions, to Reception, for September 2021 parents should apply using the Northamptonshire County Council’s Admissions process. Application forms must be completed and return to the Council by 5.00pm on 15 January 2021.

Reception 2022

We have 60 places in our Reception Year, if we are oversubscribed, places will be allocated in accordance with our Admissions Policy which also includes information about appeals arrangements, this policy can be found on this website and also includes our appeals arrangements.

Appeals 

Parents have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel if their application is unsuccessful relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above.  Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of the refusal to:

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
