Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal through the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals programme.

Even if your child already receives a free meal under this scheme, we strongly encourage parents and carers to register for benefits-related Free School Meals if they are eligible. This enables the academy to access additional Pupil Premium funding, which is used to support teaching, learning and wider opportunities for pupils.

For children in Year 3 to Year 6, you may qualify for Free School Meals if you receive one of the following:

  • Universal Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guaranteed Element of Pension Credit

To check your eligibility and submit an application, please visit the West Northamptonshire Council website. Applications must be completed directly with the local authority, and all eligible children within the household should be included on the application.
